Support is where a divorce or custody case becomes a monthly reality. Whether you will pay it or receive it, the amount is set by rules that reward precise, well-documented advocacy. The Jimmerson Law Firm has handled Nevada family law matters in Clark County since 1977.
What We Handle
We establish, modify, and enforce both spousal support (alimony) and child support. Nevada child support is calculated under statewide guidelines that look to the number of children and the parents’ income, with adjustments the court applies to individual circumstances. Spousal support is more discretionary, turning on the length of the marriage, each spouse’s income and earning capacity, and the standard of living established during the marriage.
Support rarely stands alone. It is usually decided alongside divorce and child custody, and is part of our broader family law practice.
